About Boxerbook

An open, honest record of boxers and their bouts.

Why. Boxing needs more openness. Tennis has the ATP points, chess has Elo, football has the FIFA ranking, basketball publishes every MVP ballot by name. Boxing has four sanctioning bodies with four champions per division, rankings decided in closed committees, and record books behind paywalls. Nobody can tell you why a fighter is number 7 and not number 4.

We want boxing to have what other sports take for granted: clear, explainable analysis and rankings with a published formula, where every position can be traced to the bouts behind it, and where fans, fighters and trainers can check the numbers themselves.

What this is. Boxerbook is a catalogue of professional boxers, their fights, world titles and the rankings published about them. We did our best to assemble it from open sources only, and every fact on a card links back to where it came from.

Where the data comes from. We take into account open sources, sanctioning bodies and commissions, and we read the publications and official results they put out.

What we do not do. We do not copy paid databases. When two sources disagree, we show both versions instead of picking one quietly. If you spot an error, every bout page has a link to report it.
